Hudson Valley Poetry
Hudson Valley Poetry is a community-driven space for self-expression, connection, and creativity—rooted in the heart of the Rivertowns.
We host a monthly Open Mic every first Thursday at 7PM at Ludy Café in Irvington, NY, where writers of all kinds gather to share poems, stories, and spoken word in a warm, welcoming setting. Whether you’re reading for the first time or the hundredth, there’s always a seat and a mic for you.
Founded by local author Carolina Abreu, Hudson Valley Poetry began as a love letter to the valley that raised her—and a response to the deep need for accessible, inclusive spaces where creativity and community meet. Especially for parents, working artists, and anyone who’s been craving a place to be heard.
Our mission is simple: come as you are, speak your truth, and let the river listen.
